Festive Fish From Waitrose

Waitrose King Prawn, Mango and Coconut Terrines and Waitrose Prawn Cheesecakes - Christmas 2017

Start your celebrations in style with a little help from Waitrose as the supermarket introduces a great new range of elegant, on-trend fish dishes.

New for Christmas 2017 are the Waitrose Fish Pies in Charcoal Pastry (£8/12s), which feature poached smoked haddock and salmon in a creamy sauce, presented in an eye catching charcoal tartlet finished with a seaweed and parsley crumb.  

While cheesecake is traditionally seen on the dessert table, Waitrose has given it a savoury makeover with the introduction of the Waitrose Prawn Cheesecakes (£5.99/2s). Inspired by the Swedish recipe Skagenrora, the cheesecake has a crisp base with pumpkin seeds, topped with refreshing soft cheese, crème fraiche, red onion topped with a coldwater prawn and a sprig of dill.

The new Waitrose Prawn and Mango Terrines (£5.99/2s) has been inspired by flavours of South East Asia. This beautiful dish displays layers of vibrant mango jelly and prawn mousse and boasts delicate flavours of lemongrass, ginger, lime leaf, coconut and chilli. 

Continuing with the boozy food trend, Waitrose will launch a gin-infused salmon as part of its Christmas range. The Waitrose Gin Cured Smoked Salmon with Botanicals (£5.99/100g) is the ultimate Christmas treat. Cured in a single estate gin and a blend of juniper, angelica root and apple extracts, citrus zest and oils before being smoked over oak wood – this salmon is perfect on a blini.

Perfect to get the party started are the Waitrose Smoked Salmon, Beetroot and Spinach Blinis (£7/12s). The colourful beetroot and spinach blinis come as part of a kit including mild cream cheese and smoked salmon - all you have to do is layer the ingredients together.
